Privacy Policy
Last updated: 10 August 2026
This policy explains what One SOS collects, why, and what control you have over it. It covers the One SOS app for the public, the One SOS Ambulance app for drivers and paramedics, the One SOS Hospital app for hospital staff, and the One SOS web platform.
One SOS coordinates emergency response. Handling location and health information is what makes that possible, so we have tried to be specific rather than general about what is collected and who receives it.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Name, mobile number and email address
- Emergency contacts you choose to add, so they can be alerted when you raise an SOS
- Health details you choose to provide โ such as blood group, allergies, existing conditions and notes about the emergency โ which are passed to responders and the receiving hospital
- For responders: employer or agency, professional credentials, vehicle and duty status
Location information
We collect precise location so an ambulance can be sent to you and routed to a hospital. How it is collected depends on the app:
- One SOS (public app) โ your location is collected while the app is open, so an emergency can be dispatched to where you actually are.
- One SOS Ambulance โ while a driver is on duty and the app is open, location is collected so the control room, the caller and the receiving hospital can see the ambulance position and estimated arrival. It is not collected in the background or when the app is closed, and not at all when the driver is off duty.
- One SOS Hospital โ does not collect location at all. It displays addresses sent by the platform for the case being handled.
Information collected automatically
- Device push notification token, used only to deliver alerts to your device
- Device model, operating system version and app version
- Diagnostic and crash information used to fix faults
- Records of emergencies you were part of: timestamps, statuses, assigned ambulance and destination hospital
How we use information
- To receive an emergency request and dispatch the nearest available ambulance
- To show live ambulance location and ETA to you and to the receiving hospital
- To let a hospital prepare for an incoming patient, and to alert the emergency contacts you have chosen
- To send notifications about the status of your request
- To keep the platform secure, prevent misuse, and investigate false alerts
- To produce aggregated statistics on response times and coverage. These are not linked to identified individuals
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use health or location data for advertising.
Who your information is shared with
- Responders handling your emergency โ the assigned ambulance crew receives your location, contact number and any medical details you provided
- The destination hospital โ receives advance notice of an incoming patient with estimated arrival and relevant clinical details
- Your emergency contacts โ those you have added are told that you raised an emergency
- Service providers โ Google (maps and notification delivery) and our SMS provider, acting on our instructions
- Authorities โ where required by law, or where necessary to protect someone's life or safety
Retention
Emergency records are kept while they are needed for coordination, medico-legal and audit purposes. Live location trails are kept only for the duration of a trip and a short period afterwards to resolve disputes about response times. Account information is kept while your account is active.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, access is restricted to the responders and staff involved in an emergency, and administrative access is authenticated and logged. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat health and location data as sensitive by default.
Your choices and rights
- You can refuse or withdraw location permission in your device settings at any time. Emergency dispatch depends on location, so the service will be limited without it
- You can turn off notifications in your device settings
- You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and associated personal data
To make a request, email care@onesos.in from the address or phone number registered to your account. Some emergency records may be retained after deletion where the law requires it.
Children
One SOS is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly create accounts for them. Anyone may of course be the subject of an emergency call made by an adult.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, we will update the date above and, where the change is significant, notify you in the app.
